GP Anderson is a more than 25-year veteran of the auto industry and currently serves as Finance Manager for Thielen Motors in Park Rapids, Minn. He’s a valued contributor to Auto Dealer Today. Tom is the F&I director for Sam Pack’s Five Star Ford of Lewisville (Texas), the winner of F&I and Showroom’s 2016 F&I Dealer of the Year award, the No. 1 leasing store in all of Texas and the top Ford dealership in the Dallas metroplex area. The 30-year industry veteran joined the Sam Pack organization, and supervises a team of 25 sales associates and four finance managers. The Lewisville location was named the June Business of the Month by the Lewisville Chamber of Commerce, listed as the Best Car Dealership in Flower Mound by Living Magazine, and was voted as the one of the Top 3 dealership’s in the annual Best of Denton County listing.


George Angus

George has been referred to as the "Father of F&I Menus" in various trade publications for his ground-breaking work in introducing F&I Menu processes nationwide in the early 1990's. George’s background includes 17 years in retail automotive management positions. He left retail in 1994 and was part of the development team that created the original F&I Menus in the early '90's. Since then, George has trained thousands of F&I managers and his popular “Saturday Morning Messages to F&I Masters™” has over 12,000 subscribers, worldwide. He is a recognized authority on F&I process development. He is a consultant to the leading F&I product corporations as well as automobile manufacturers.


Gregory Arroyo

Gregory Arroyo serves as executive editor for F&I and Showroom magazine. Mr. Arroyo’s eight-year career as a journalist also includes a three-year stint with Mobile Electronics magazine, another Bobit Business Media publication covering the mobile electronics aftermarket. He also served as a reporter for the Los Angeles Times, and was part of the inaugural team that launched the newspaper’s community newspaper program in Los Angeles. Mr. Arroyo has also served as a publicist and marketer for several consumer electronics companies, and helped lead two consumer-awareness campaigns for the Consumer Electronics Association’s Mobile Electronics Division. 


Jason Barrie

Jason loves cars. So why not work in the greatest industry in the country: Automotive! Jason has over 12 years of auto experience between Dealertrack and Cox Automotive. Since 2005, Jason has helped drive the company’s growth from a credit application portal to an enabler of sales and F&I dealership workflow. Jason is responsible for product operations, partner relations and market analytics for VinSolutions and Dealertrack’s F&I solutions.  Jason started his career in 1997 at Miller Shandwick Technologies, a leading public relations firm, where he worked with industry leaders such as Compaq and Dun and Bradstreet. 


Jeff Cowan
Jeff’s experience comes from being in the trenches. He is in his 28th year of doing business and has spent the greater part of that time standing on service drives, side-by-side with Service Advisors, successfully training them in the art of selling, customer service, customer retention, and communication skills. He is known as the father of modern day walk-around and selling processes for service drives, and is recognized as the nation’s authority when it comes to training service advisors. Most who experience Jeff’s training say it is the most practical, realistic, and easy to understand sales training ever made available to the marketplace. 


Harlene Doane
Chief Operations Officer
Harlene Doane is the Chief Operations Officer of DealerStrong, previous Editor and Director for Auto Dealer Monthly magazine, and former automotive controller. She leads DealearStrong’s Accounting, HR, and Employee Development initiatives. Harlene has published many articles on leadership and training, and continues to develop training materials to assist dealer clients with their internal training needs. She specializes in consulting on accounting and HR issues encompassing recruiting management personnel, DealerTrack DMS implementation, controller onboarding, financial and process reviews, as well as acting as an extra HR voice for many clients when they face personnel issues


Tony Dupaquier
The Academy
Tony is a 27+ year veteran of the automotive industry and has been dubbed The F&I Futurist. Tony is considered the industry’s most forward-thinking F&I trainer and consultant, creating The Academy’s Y.E.S. Processes and leading the 10 certified trainers and in-dealership developers at The Academy. He has held nearly every position, from salesperson to General Manager, and is a former Nissan National Walk-Around Champion. Tony has been a featured workshop presenter at the NADA Convention for a number of years, including 2017, addressed international dealer groups on F&I and spoken at numerous 20 Groups and dealer associations.


Scott Elder

Scott is currently the President and Owner of Dream Cars Austin, soon to be Elder Mitsubishi in Cedar Park, TX.  After developing successful software and electronics businesses in Austin, TX, he bought a small used car dealership in 2003. While still in the electronics business, he began experimenting with growing the used car dealership. In 2008 he began fully focusing on developing a team and processes to be successful in the special finance niche. By 2014, the company’s sales had grown to near $50M from a single location.


Marv Eleazer

Marv Eleazer has more than 30 years in automotive retail and calls on those decades of experience in a column known as Mad Marv in F&I Showroom magazine each month. He also founded Ethical F&I Managers Facebook group which is an ongoing symposium of professional exchange among F&I practitioners. Marv has been employed in F&I at Langdale Ford since 1999 and handles all aspects of the job.


James S. Ganther

James S. Ganther is the President of Mosaic Compliance Services, a lawyer-created company that provides legal compliance services on behalf of retail dealerships. He is a member of the National Association of Dealer Counsel, and has been honored as a member of F&I Management and Technology Magazine’s “Who’s Who in F&I.” He is a frequent author and speaker on compliance topics.


Justin Gasman

Justin grew up in the car business and officially began his automotive industry career in 2003. In 2014, he joined the staff of McCaddon Cadillac Buick GMC in Boulder, CO as the dealership’s sole full-time F&I professional. That year, he won first place in F&I and Showroom’s F&Idol contest and helped McCaddon earn F&I Pacesetter status. Justin is AFIP Master-certified and is dedicated to conducting every transaction legally, ethically and professionally.


Carl Grane

Carl has more than 28 years of experience in the automotive industry, including training, financial services, income development and dealership management. As the Director of Training, he oversees all training efforts for EasyCare partners and dealers. Carl brings a blended learning approach to the training curriculum by combining our learning management system, live online web training and in-person classroom-style training. His training programs for finance and insurance, sales and fixed operations help dealers create passionate employees and customers for their automotive dealerships.


Bob Harkins

Bob Harkins’ background in the automotive industry includes consumer finance, sales and F&I management. He once served as vice president and director of training for an international credit insurance and vehicle service contract administrator and also has worked with Northwood University, NADA’s Dealer Candidate Academy, NCM Associates Inc., manufacturers’ dealer development programs, state dealer associations and AFIP. He moved on to Pat Ryan and Associates, District Manager for Toyota Motor Insurance Services, National Sales and Marketing Manager for Toyota Motor Sales Australia, Ltd and then Training and Business Development Manager for TMIS at the Toyota headquarters in Torrance, California. Jay founded his own company, Lawrence Custom Training & Consulting, working with industry leaders including Universal Underwriters, JM&A, and American Honda. Jay joined National Auto Care in 2015 with the specific goal of leading the company’s training efforts.

Tiger Lester

Tiger Lester serves as regional finance director for Group 1 Automotive, the third-largest automotive retailer in the United States, with 124 dealerships across 15 states. He oversees all F&I operations for Group 1 within the Southwest, which consistently ranks among Group 1’s top regions for F&I performance in terms of product sales and PRU. Among his duties, Lester manages the hiring and promotion of F&I managers and directors, conducts ongoing training, performs regular compliance audits, and maintains stringent F&I performance standards. Lester has also served as a judge in the 2015 and 2016 Northwood University F&I Innovator of the Year Awards.


Bob Lettis
VP Strategic Alliances and Business Development
Bob has been in the automotive industry for over 12 years focusing on the Credit Bureau Compliance and Pre-Screen segments of the industry. He has worked closely with Trans Union Experian and Equifax in developing and growing these related product categories with Dealers Dealer groups Affiliates and OEMs. Bob has extensive contacts at the executive levels within these market segments and has developed a solid networking foundation of business peers and partnerships. He previously worked for Dealer Marketing Services as President of ProCredit Express which he created as a start up at the height of the automotive downturn.

A 25-year industry veteran, Sam Levin serves in the role of finance director for the Nyle Maxwell Family of Dealership’s Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Supercenter operation. The dealership is the No. 1-ranked CJDR dealership in Central Texas; it is No. 4 in the district, and is among the top 25 in the nation. Levin and his team of F&I professionals are AFIP-certified, and their sole focus is on excellence in customer service. The Nyle Maxwell Family of Dealerships was honored as a 2012 F&I and Showroom News Pacesetter and was nominated for Time Magazine and Ally Financial Dealer of the Year the following year.


David Lewis

David Lewis is the President of David Lewis & Associates (DLA), which is located in Melbourne, Florida. Since 1986 David has been training Dealers, General Managers, Sales Managers, F&I Managers, Service Managers, Service Advisors and Salespeople on the “Art of Inspirational Selling.” David Lewis started his career in 1979 selling cars for a local Chevrolet Dealership in Lawrence, MA. His unique ideas have helped thousands of Dealerships nationwide achieve their sales and management goals. Since 1990, David has been rated as one of the top five speakers at the NADA Conventions and is a regular speaker at 20 Groups, local and state association events.

John is senior vice president, sales and marketing for First Extended Service Corporation, responsible for all sales and marketing activities within First Extended’s US agent distribution segment.  He began his career in the retail automotive business holding various sales and service positions.  He joined the company as a regional sales manager, later holding the positions of national sales manager, divisional vice president, and agent distribution vice president.  He has been the recipient of numerous sales awards, including the Resource Automotive Regional Vice President of the Year Award.

Rick has more than 30 years of sales experience, with over 6 years in the retail automobile business. Rick has also served as an Ordained Minister, and attributes his success in both vocations to consistently asking one question… “What’s your story?” Rick believes the key to helping others is the ability to listen effectively. Over the last 11 years Rick has conducted training for Dealer Groups and General Agencies across the country. He has authored articles on F&I that have appeared in F&I Showroom and Agent Entrepreneur magazine and has consistently presented at the annual Industry Summit and Agent Summit.

Eric Mélon, AKA "Frenchy" has spent 31 years working in the automotive industry, developing a world-class reputation for training thousands of successful sales and management personnel throughout the world. Frenchy joined First Dealer Resources, now IAS, in 2004 to direct sales training initiatives and grow dealer relations nationally. Prior to joining FDR, Frenchy served as a dealer development consultant for Stuker & Associates. While there, Frenchy was responsible for both national and international accounts as he trained management and sales personnel through the U.S., Australia, Canada and Europe.  Frenchy’s style of training is passionate, powerful and uncompromising. 


Matt Orlando

Matt serves as the Director of Customer Solutions for RouteOne, a joint venture created by Ally Financial, Ford Motor Credit, TD Auto Finance and Toyota Financial Services. He is responsible for managing RouteOne’s Open Integration Strategy and the extensive network of product and provider integrations to and from the RouteOne platform. Previous to his current role, Matt has held several management positions within the area of eContracting and finance source management within RouteOne. Prior to joining RouteOne, Matt served in various leadership positions at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, United Technologies, AlliedSignal, and Motion Industries.

Shaun Petersen is the senior vice president of legal and government affairs for the National Independent Automobile Dealers Association. In that role, he is general counsel and manages legislative and regulatory affairs for the association. Prior to his position with NIADA, Petersen was a partner in law firm of Mac Murray, Petersen & Shuster LLP representing both independent and franchise dealers, auto auctions, finance companies, service contract companies and marketing firms, among others, in matters related to state and federal consumer financial protection laws. Before entering private practice, Petersen served as senior deputy attorney general under former Ohio Attorney General Jim Petro.

David Spisak

Following service in the U.S. Navy, David Spisak worked in the automotive industry for 17 years where he advanced from general manager of a single dealership to managing 32 stores with 3,500 employees for AutoNation. Acting on that insight, he founded ReverseRisk® to help dealers proficiently and accurately track operations across all departments to increase profits. Gil is the principal of gvo3 & Associates, a nationally recognized compliance consulting, audit, training and review firm. He and his team work with dealerships around the country in implementing F&I and Sales Compliance Management Solutions to help dealers manage and mitigate compliance issues. He is a frequent speaker to industry groups and also provides litigation support on behalf of automotive retailers and insurers. Prior to forming gvo3 & Associates in 2001, Gil was the Chief Operating Officer for Premier Auto Finance, a management company that managed auto finance portfolios for dealer groups.
